REGARDING the recent incident in Bank Park involving the tractor driver (Warrington Guardian, July 23).

I think that this incident was a complete disgrace and the driver should be sacked.

In Chester when tractors are in the parks warning signs are located at all entrances spelling out the message to everyone ‘Warning mowing in progress, please take care’.

Before areas are mowed park staff, or the mower driver, asks people to leave the area until the job is done.

A lot of people witnessed this grinning fool, feet away from the young ladies and their small children, and were concerned an accident could happen.

Did the driver have poor eyesight and not see the people?

Warrington Borough Council should make sure all tractor drivers stick to the speed limit. They drive very fast on the council estates and are lucky there are not more accidents.

The driver of this tractor should be retrained for health and safety and told of his responsibilities to people in the park.

Also the young ladies and children should be invited by the council to a free day out to show not all parks staff are grinning fools.

Their stay in Warrington was spoiled by an idiot.
