AFTER a week away from Warrington we came back to what must be the most badly organised traffic chaos of traffic lights with no sense of operation whatsoever in the UK.

So well done Warrington Borough Council for organising traffic lights that impede movement around the town with some of the most stupid timings from whatever direction you venture.

Stockton Heath must get the gold award for the most lights in such a small area. Another gold goes to the lights on the Cockhedge island for causing delays by just being on.

Silver goes to the lights at Crosfield island for poor synchronisation. One set are going to red while the others are, at the same time for opposing flow, down to green.

A recipe for accidents with red light abusers (this town is full of them). I have left the bronze to Bridge Foot which is akin to ‘death race 2000’.

We have lights on where we don’t need them and others so badly timed that accidents are going to happen.

Of course I am only a road user and not a professional road planner.

For that qualification you must enjoy computer games.
