IT was with interest I read the letter published from R Harvey in the Warrington Guardian on January 15.
As a resident living off Old Liverpool Road, I couldn’t agree more with the comments regarding the filth on the roads and pavements caused by the Veolia waste trucks visiting the landfill site.
The surface of the road has got to be one of the worst in Warrington and it is fast becoming one of the most run down areas in the borough.
It appears to be another case of the company sticking two fingers up to the community.
The road surface appears to be far worse going from Lane Ends to the tip.
Also, the filth seems to be worse in the other direction after the vehicles have disposed of their load and exited the tip.
It’s about time the council either did something themselves or forced the firm to start clearing up after themselves.
I am so disgusted I have actually put my house up for sale after living in the same area all my life.
You really couldn’t see this happening in the Stockton Heath/ Lymm areas of the town.
