ON Monday, December 29 I found that the battery of my Smart Car had died.
I rang my usual garage only to be told that it was difficult week and that they were short staffed.
There was nothing they could do until next week.
I rang Halfords and spoke with a young man called Gary.
He not only sourced a new battery but organised a tow truck to bring my car into the workshop where he fitted the new battery.
All of this was done efficiently and Gary kept me informed throughout the day.
He was short staffed, having to deal with telephone calls, customers arriving etc and yet he took the time to let me know when he got the battery and when the tow truck would arrive.
He remained polite, courteous and in good humour.
Smartie and I were reunited at 5pm.
As a result of Gary’s response I will now be having my car serviced at Halfords.
