IF Joan (Warrington Guardian, November 20) rereads my letter of November 6 she will see that I agreed with her except for the two issues that I mention.
I think that it is disgraceful that the hospital is going to charge for disabled parking.
I have had reason to write to Ms Mel Pickup, chief executive, Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, over a number of issues.
In my letter to her on November 15, I brought up disabled parking. I quote : “You have the power to cancel these parking charges for disabled people and they will all be in the blue badge scheme for disabled parking concessions.
"So, come on. Do the right thing.
"Just how much money will the hospital lose if you revert to free parking for the disabled? An absolute drop in the ocean to the hospital but a big benefit to the disabled.”
So you see Joan, I am right with you on this issue. I do hope that you take up my telephone invitation to come round to my house, with your husband, to meet my wife and to have a cup of tea.
I am of the firm belief that with your experience of being a nurse at the hospital and my knowledge, gained by being a very frequent patient at the hospital since 2001, we can help to make the hospital a much better one at all levels.
