MY thanks to all those who worked with us on, took part in or were in the audience for what, from all accounts, was a truly memorable Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night at the Parr Hall.

Thanks for their contributions and performances to: The Royal British Legion (Merseyside/West Lancashire), the Combined Bands of The Lancashire Artillery and The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment under the direction of Bandmaster Gavin Holden, Rev Stephen Kingsnorth and members of Warrington Council of Faiths, Elizabeth Flanagan of the Cheshire Army Cadet Force — Warrington Detachment, Dave Lee and Choir Patron Terry Waite CBE for their readings, standard bearers, officers and cadets from the Marines, Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force and last, but certainly not least, the members of Warrington Male Voice Choir, musical director Russell Paterson, assistant musical director Anthony Whittaker and accompanist Helen Everett.

Thanks to an audience of about 500 for their support and contribution to a great atmosphere. They hopefully not only had an enjoyable evening, but also helped raise funds for the 2014 Poppy Appeal and the Choir’s charity Fisher House.

In what I understood to be a first for Warrington, we promised, and believe we delivered, an enjoyable and emotional evening – a fitting tribute to the fallen.

Bob Williams Chairman, Warrington Male Voice Choir
