AFTER reading page 2 in the Guardian on October 9, I was appalled to see that disabled people are going to be charged to park their vehicles.
Number one: disabled people struggle to find a blue-badge space because of all the lazy, able-bodied people parking in them.
Number two: the lame excuse that the automatic number plate recognition system cannot tell the difference between the cars. What a load of hogwash this is.
It seems very funny that if you drive in the capital, London, with a blue badge it automatically knows that vehicle belongs to a blue-badge owner. So that blows the argument out of the water.
It seems to me that Warrington Borough Council is a money-grabbing bunch of hypocrites.
When I talk to out-of-town friends and tell them about wardens checking that you are not crossing a line when parking in a bay in a car park and if you do you get a ticket, they laugh so much that they nearly wet themselves.
Come on Warrington — show some compassion towards disabled people.
Remember, disabled people vote in the council elections. We can vote you out.
