I READ recently that the European Commission had given its approval to the £3.7 billion merger between two of our high street companies, Dixon’s and Carphone Warehouse.
It would seem that, without such approval, the merger could not have gone ahead. I find it staggering that Britain’s own Competition and Markets Authority can’t be the ultimate arbiter on this matter but must refer it to our masters in Brussels.
If you want Britain to be more than a province of a new European empire then you might consider voting for UKIP at next year’s General Election. If you don’t give a damn then vote for one of the other parties; it doesn’t matter which one – they are all the same.
