FURTHER to Ann Raymond (Warrington Lib Dems party chairman) letter in the Guardian, May 29.

She says, ‘We shall be going into those communities over the coming year to explain what Liberal Democrats can do and to provide an alternative viewpoint’.

I would like to suggest that it’s going to be a very hard sell on the doorsteps of Warrington for the Lib Dems to explain their austerity measures while in coalition with the Tories when at the same time the fiasco over the privatisation of the Royal Mail has cost the taxpayer to suffer a humiliating loss of around £1 billion.

Lib Dems’ Vince Cable as Business Secretary and Danny Alexander as Chief Secretary to the Treasury took advice from their financial advisers in the city of London to guide them on a valution of the business to set a share price and then allowed those same advisers to cash in on the sudden rise.

It is shameful for a Government to sell off public assests on the cheap and nothing could be a clearer waste of public money especially in these times of austerity. Once again Government financial advisers in the city of London have made a quick profit while the rest of us suffer. It’s scandalous.
