IN reply to Mavis Hoarty, while I agree that Warrington Walking Day isn’t the event it once was, it is something that should be treasured and preserved.
Lots of community events have been lost up and down the country because of health and safety and apathy.
Just because the make up of the town has changed it shouldn’t mean Warrington loses its identity.
Those from outside the town should be told why the walks exist and be encouraged to get involved. I won’t argue that pubs benefit from walking day, but then they always did.
