WHY does this council see the need to consider withdrawing transport for special needs children to travel to and from school in a safe manner? I

It appears from many articles in the Guardian that the elderly, infirm and those needing extra help are the first in line to be affected when cuts are to be made.

What about a salary cut for all those in the council employ earning more than £35,000?

All the cuts will be blamed on the current Government and not on the Labour council hitting those in need.

Warrington Borough Transport, now Network Warrington, is owned by the council according to the Network Warrington website, as a limited company.

Recent weeks have seen many full page adverts in the Guardian for them, at what cost?

Approval of the ‘20 is Plenty Scheme’ is another total waste of money caused through the signage that will be involved.

We have had many road alterations that have caused more trouble than cures, such as the ridiculous road signage at Bridge Foot which underwent further painting not long after.

Surely that money would be better spent on services for the vulnerable? There are many areas in this town where money can be saved without hitting those who can’t fight back.

These children in particular need that transport for their safety and that of their parents and carers.
