IN the Guardian, February 28, there was a report about ATM scams in Warrington. DC Condon from the economic crime unit said the suspects were of ‘Eastern European origin’.

I would like to refer DC Condon to a quote from DCI Paul Barnard, head of London Met’s dedicated cheque and plastic crime unit, 2012 in the Evening Standard.

‘The fact is 92.2 per cent of all ATM fraud we see in this country is committed by Romanian nationals, very, very tight communities, very, very tight gangs’.

So I have a tip for the economic crime unit – concentate on the Romanian community not the other 7.8 per cent regarding ATM fraud and we might just have a chance when the main body of Romanians arrive in January 2014.
