WITH regard to the letter in last week’s Guardian concerning parking at Morrisons from Caroline at Walton.

I am not too sure why anyone would moan about an elderly couple parking in a child place then using a stick to get around. Has she no compassion?

I too need a stick to get around while waiting for a hip operation and do not qualify for a blue badge, but if I park in a normal bay and someone parks next to me then I cannot get back into my car as there is not enough space.

I have witnessed many people parking in these bays with children who do not need a pushchair or a special seat and run around the supermarket and I have also seen plenty of people with blue badges walk briskly around the supermarket.

If Caroline needs to have a gripe at anyone why not the supermarkets and ask them to provide proper parking spaces for all, starting with wide spaces by the door for the disabled, spaces for children in pushchairs and also for the over 60s, people with children, single people then right at the back professional sports people.

If the only thing you have to moan about Caroline is the size of your space then consider yourself lucky.

Supermarkets provide these spaces to get you to bring the kids so you stay longer and spend more, not because they like you.
