OUR daughter started at King’s Leadership Academy last autumn and we know that sending her there was one of the best decisions we have ever made.
We have been thrilled with the outstanding teaching that she has received and the way that the school places a strong emphasis on developing the ‘whole child’ (eg self-confidence, professionalism and respect for others in addition to achieving great results).
Students are also offered the chance to participate in activities such as fencing, Latin and water polo that would not be offered to them elsewhere.
The school currently resides in the infant building of Bruche Primary School, a place that will not contain all the additional students joining the academy over the next couple of years.
As the academy was denied permission to move into the old Woolston High School building, a new one was needed and the academy has found a great site off Hillock Lane in Woolston.
The academy is currently trying to obtain planning permission to build the new school and last week many King’s parents left comments on the council’s planning permission website in favour of this site being used.
A few days ago we were astonished to find that our positive comments had been removed and only the negative ones had been left. In a subsequent planning meeting only these negative comments were able to be put forward. We would like to ask the council why our comments have been removed?
