PAUL Wood is expected to play two more reserve games before returning to first-team action after scoring a try on his comeback from a shoulder injury on Saturday.
Wood, who has played just six minutes for the first team in the past 11 months because of recurring shoulder problems, touched down once and played well as Wolves’ reserve team beat Wakefield 36-26 at Wilderspool with the aid of a hat-trick from Andy Bracek.
Lee Mitchell and Alex Thompson also crossed for the second string, who have no game this weekend, while Jack Reid added six goals for a side also including Mark Gleeson and Matty Blythe.
Wolves: Chris Murphy; Yaad Johal, Shaun McDonald, Danny Colquitt, Pat O'Neill; Jack Reid, Craig White; Lee Mitchell, Mark Gleeson, Paul Wood, Paul Reynolds, Matty Blythe, Andy Bracek. Subs: Alex Thompson, Keiran Edwards, Josh Cullen, Ben Mellor.
* The reserves have no game this week but the under 18s travel to Huddersfield on Saturday.
