THE three Warrington Wolves players currently out on loan were all in action for their new clubs at the weekend.

Gil Dudson and Lucas Green made their debuts for Salford Red Devils and Bradford Bulls respectively, while Brad Dwyer continued to make his mark on his week-to-week loan at Leigh Leopards.

Dudson, whose return to the Red Devils on a season-long loan was confirmed on Wednesday, was one of just two recognised props in Paul Rowley’s 17 for the clash with Wigan Warriors on Thursday, meaning the Welshman played big minutes off the bench.

He made 57 metres in 10 carries and completed 21 tackles as Salford conceded two late tries to lose 22-12 to the defending Super League champions.

Green was also on the losing side as he played the first game of his month-long stint at Bradford.

He came off the bench for Eamonn O’Carroll’s Bulls side as they were beaten 42-12 by promotion favourites Wakefield Trinity – led of course by the man who gave him his senior Wire debut last year in Daryl Powell – in their Championship opener.

It was a better weekend for Dwyer, who was a key part of Leigh’s first win of 2024 as they thrashed Hull 54-4 at the MKM Stadium.

The hooker set up a first-half try for Robbie Mulhern, jumping out of dummy-half and sending the prop crashing over from close range.

He ran for 87 metres from his eight carries and successfully completed 16 tackles.
