STEFAN Ratchford left London as a record-holder – and he could have left with two!
In converting Josh Thewlis’ third try of the afternoon, the Warrington Wolves skipper broke the Super League record for consecutive successful kicks at goal by extending his run to 40.
It meant he beat the record held by Leeds Rhinos’ Rhyse Martin, but he still had the world record of 41 to chase, which was previously held jointly by Martin, Liam Finn and Jamie Ellis.
He equalled that mark and then as he lined up to convert Matt Dufty's third score from just right of the posts, he looked set for even more history only for him to put the kick wide.
Still, he eased the pain by rounding off the scoring with The Wire’s tenth and final try in their 58-4 win to take them to the top of Super League.
He finished the afternoon with a try and nine goals, meaning 22 of Wire's points came from their captain.
