A SCOTLAND international is one of three signings made by Warrington Town ahead of today’s player registration deadline.

Defender Jay McEveley, who has won three Scotland caps and played in the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers, has arrived at Cantilever Park on loan from Tranmere Rovers.

The 33-year-old, who can play at left-back or centre-back, has made 13 appearances in the National League for the Prenton Park side this year.

Yellows boss Paul Carden also secured the signings of centre-back Adam Dugdale and winger Mekhi Leacock-McLeod before the 5pm deadline.

Former Crewe Alexandra defender Dugdale has most recently played at Southport, while Leacock-McLeod played in League Two for Accrington Stanley earlier this season.

Dugdale signs a permanent deal, while Leacock-Mcleod joins the club on loan.

All three players are eligible to make their debuts in Saturday's trip to Stalybridge Celtic.

The three arrivals provide a much-needed boost to Carden's squad as they continue their assault on promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier Division - they sit second, just one point behind leaders Altrincham.
