TONY Smith says Wolves are hoping Joe Westerman will be available for the Challenge Cup Final against his former club Hull FC at Wembley next Saturday.
The loose forward was replaced midway through the first half of the 14-11 win against Castleford Tigers after taking a bang to his ankle.
Wolves' head of coaching and rugby Tony Smith said: “Joe has a bit of an ankle injury.
"It’s more of a blow to his ankle rather than ligaments.
"We’re hoping that settles down.
"It’s more of a bruising type injury rather than a strain. Out of the two, we’d go for that one.
"And hopefully he’ll recover through the week."
Although hooker Daryl Clark and prop Ryan Bailey picked up knocks, Smith says they are not severe.
“Daryl Clark may have broken a finger but I’m not sure. His finger won’t keep him out.
“There was no drama with Ryan’s thigh. It just tightened up a little.”
