HULL KR host Warrington Wolves on Friday hoping to close the gap on a Super 8s spot.

The hosts sit 10th in the Super League table, two points behind their city rivals Hull FC, in eighth, and four points behind sixth-placed Warrington.

The KC Lightstream Stadium outfit ended a three-game losing streak with the defeat of Widnes Vikings last time out, with their previous home victory coming against Wakefield with a 54-6 home success in May.

Between the two wins they have lost Super League fixtures to Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC and Castleford Tigers.

Despite their league position, Rovers’ players have been sharing the tries with four among Super League’s top 10 scorers this season.

Ken Sio has crossed 13 times, while Josh Mantellato, Kieran Dixon and Albert Kelly all have 11 each.

Former Warrington loose forward Tyrone McCarthy is Chris Chester’s side’s top tackler with 592, topping Wolves’ Chris Hill, 544.

Wolves came out on top at The Halliwell Jones Stadium the last time these sides met in March, with a 32-24 success to follow up their pre-season friendly win.

The sides shared Super League wins last season, also meeting twice in a week as Wolves came out on top during a Challenge Cup clash.
