ASHTON Sims is ready to embrace the English lifestyle this winter.

The new Warrington Wolves signing, along with wife Nicole and children Isla, aged one, Alani, aged four, and Kobe, aged five, are settling into life in Appleton after arriving in England on Monday.

Sims, a huge Metallica fan, will start by switching on the Christmas Lights and launching Wolves’ 2015 kit tomorrow, Friday.

“Pulling on that jersey for the first time will be a real thrill for me,” explained the 29-year-old.

“I went over to a shop the other day, Tesco, and got pulled up a couple of times. I got to meet a few people. It was good, they were really passionate fans.

“That’s one thing I’m looking forward to, earning the respect of the players but also the coaching staff and fans.

“I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of the fans on Friday and settling into Warrington.”

However, he will be unlikely to be taking directions to Golden Square from Wolves’ kit man Bobby Moore.

“We got a bit lost the other day,” laughed Sims. “Our kit man told us to look for the twisty bridge – I was waiting for this big twisty thing he reckoned people got stuck on.

“But there’s a lot of stuff for the kids and my wife to do while I’m away, so I’m certainly looking forward to this new adventure.

“Warrington Wolves exceeded all my expectations. I’m really happy with the house we’re in and looking forward to getting into the English lifestyle.”

He is also preparing for a first Christmas in Warrington, despite the weather.

“We’ll do the Christmas stuff here,” he added. “Usually we complain it’s about 35/40 degree heat back home. It’ll be a new experience for me and my wife, and certainly the kids.

“Picking up the family and moving half way across the world was a big decision. People said ‘you can go to all these other countries when you get there’. I thought ‘I’m just here for the footy, not really to sightsee’.

“I don’t have too many complications in my life. As long as I have the love of my family, and as long as Metallica is still in my ears, I’m happy.”
