ELLIS Gillam will join the Warrington Wolves under 19s academy side ahead of next season.

The 16-year-old second row joined the club from Barrow Island aged 14 and is also comfortable at centre or loose forward.

Gillam was spotted during one of Warrington Wolves’ coaching camps at Barrow Island and was monitored, from an early age, by the club’s Cumbrian scouting network.

Under 16s coach Gary Chambers said: “Ellis possesses all the essential traits that we look for at Warrington Wolves.

“His signing once again highlights the excellent relationships we have in Cumbria. I am sure the way he has conducted himself this year will see him become a key member of the U19s in the future.

“Such is his maturity and commitment he has decided to move south to give himself every opportunity to fulfil his undoubted potential.

“He has been a pleasure to coach this year and I am sure Lee Briers and his staff will feel the same come the new season.”
