CHRIS Hill has picked up the top accolades at Warrington Wolves’ end-of-season awards ceremony at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tonight.
The England prop forward walked away with the prizes for player of the year and players’ player of the year, while also taking the Vice Presidents’ award for his exceptional performances in primrose and blue during 2014.
Retiring hooker Michael Monaghan collected the Squadbuilder player of the year honour, while Chris Bridge’s efforts off the field as well as on it were recognised with receipt of the community award.
Rising half-back star Declan Patton was revealed as the player of the year for Wolves’ table-topping under 19s Academy side.
And one of the club’s loyal servants and unsung heroes, Doreen Lindop, was presented with the club person of the year award.
The event, two nights before Wolves’ final Super League regular round game of the season at Wigan, was also an opportunity to thank and say goodbye to players and staff who will be moving on at the end of the campaign.
They include players Michael Monaghan, Trent Waterhouse, Chris Riley, Danny Bridge, Jordan Burke, Gavin Bennion and James Saltonstall, first-team coaches Willie Poching and Richard Marshall, head of strength and conditioning Chris Baron, joint under 19s community coach Danny Fullerton, sports scientist Andy Holleyhead and soft tissue therapist Amanda Turner.
