WARRINGTON Wolves were beaten in their final run-out before the new Super League campaign.

Leigh Leopards emerged victorious in Joe Philbin’s Testimonial match, with The Wire made to pay for a sloppy opening quarter in which Josh Charnley and Zak Hardaker notched tries.

Connor Wrench also spent time in the sin bin for a high tackle but upon his return, James Harrison crashed over to get the hosts on the board.

With both sides much-changed at half-time, quickfire tries from Matt Moylan and Umyla Hanley effectively won the game for Leigh before young winger Frank Sergent touched down for Wire’s second try.

Brad Dwyer was also sin-binned late on for a high shot for the hosts before Tom Nisbet wrapped up the scoring for the visitors late on.
