WARRINGTON Wolves did what they needed to do at Huddersfield Giants to book their place in the Super League play-offs.

Stefan Ratchford’s nerveless tee kicking proved the difference, with the Wire skipper kicking four second-half penalties having converted first-half tries from Matt Dufty and James Harrison.

Those tries came in the first 12 minutes as The Wire got off to a red-hot start, but they struggled to shake off the Giants for whom Chris McQueen touched down right on half time.

Will Pryce then stepped over to make things nervy, but Warrington held their hosts and the play-off challenge of Salford Red Devils at bay to book a trip to St Helens in the eliminator round next week.
