DESPITE three Super League wins and victory in the World Club Challenge, all is not rosy in the Wigan garden.

Just like at Wolves, injuries are starting to plague Shaun Wane’s side. However, Wigan’s all seem to be happening in the same position.

Already weakened by a long-term injury to Dom Manfredi, Joe Burgess and Lewis Tierney picked up injuries in Friday’s victory over Leigh to leave Wane without a senior winger.

Oliver Gildart and John Bateman are also absent, so the Warriors’ back line could have a slightly makeshift look about it.

Morgan Escare has slotted into the full-back spot left vacant by long-term absentee Sam Tomkins seamlessly.

Frank-Paul Nuuausala will be more menacing with a full pre-season under his belt, while skipper Sean O’Loughlin is also back at full fitness.

With Matty Smith now at St Helens, Wane brought Tommy Leuluai back to the club and the New Zealand international has helped Wigan break away from the structured style that served them so well in 2016.

ONE TO WATCH – George Williams:

THE stand-off seems to grow in stature with every game and has started 2017 in sparkling form.

Tommy Leuluai’s arrival seems to have prompted the 22-year-old to step up his game further and he is the early favourite for a starting role in England’s World Cup team.
