FORMER Wolves scrum-half Chris Sandow’s first boxing match has ended in a majority draw.
The 27-year-old, who walked out on his contract with The Wire, stepped into the ring to take on former Catalans scrum-half Todd Carney in a charity bout in Sydney today.
One judge had Sandow as the clear winner, but the other two scored it 29-29.
Sandow, who had crowed in the build-up about beating Carney and fellow Super League stayaway James Segeyaro in the same night, was the more aggressive of the two as Carney sought a more measured approach.
Swinging wildly in hope of a knockout, Sandow slipped over twice during the second of three rounds.
Both fighters went for it in the final round, but they could not be separated.
After his acrimonious departure from England, Sandow admitted he should have handled things better but is now seeking a contract in the NRL.
