Lymm 28 Rossendale 32
A PROMISING season ended in defeat for Lymm as visitors Rossendale edged a to-and-fro encounter at Crouchley Lane.
Adam Fletcher’s side finished fourth in the Northern Premier as a result and the Lymm head coach said the campaign offered much to build upon.
“Ending fourth in this very competitive league is a great achievement,” he said.
“We will be looking to build on this next season and use our developing strength in depth.
“We have more home-grown talent waiting to come through from our very successful Colts teams.”
Cormac Nolan notched 18 of Lymm’s points as he scored a try, two conversions and three penalties.
James Kimber and Tom Bray also crossed in the first half to give Lymm an eight-point lead, but an interception try on the strong of half-time changed the momentum and allowed Rossendale to claim the spoils.
