Eagle 15 Ruskin Park 31
A RUN of three late tries put paid to Eagle’s hopes of a much-needed victory at Thornton Road on Saturday.
Danny Cahill’s side trailed 7-5 at the break, with James Tickle crossing for the hosts after he picked up a loose ball to drive over.
Tries were exchanged in the second half, but Ruskin Park took advantage in a lapse in concentration from the hosts to stretch their lead in the closing stages.
“Our forwards performed well against a very big and strong Ruskin pack,” Cahill said.
“We contested up front for every ball, but then silly lapses in concentration let us down, and Ruskin found the gaps.
“Let’s hope we can finish the season with a flourish after the Easter break.”
Eagle wrap up their South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two campaign with a trip to Tyldesley on Saturday, April 22, kick off 3pm.
