Moore 14 Eagle 35
EAGLE got their first win of the South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two season at the ninth attempt as they saw off neighbours Moore.
They got off to the perfect start when skipper Simon Counsell crashed over before full-back Keiron Thomas finished off a well-worked move to cross in the corner.
Young powerhouse Niall Toher grabbed his side’s third try, with Jack Jackson’s third conversion making the score 21-0 at the break.
Moore finally got themselves on the board after the break with a converted score, but Eagle pressed on regardless and Kyle Jones bundled his way over.
The hosts grabbed another try right of the posts, but it proved merely a consolation as Nathan Taylor’s long-range effort rounded off an impressive Eagle performance.
They host Oldershaw, the side directly above them in the table, on Saturday, kick-off 2.15pm.
