Altrincham Kersal 2nd 0 Lymm 2nd 67

SATURDAY'S impressive victory for champions Lymm, and their end-of-season form in general, should prove perfect preparation for their cup final appearance.

Altrincham-Kersal could not deal with the mobile forwards linking up with their speedy back division as Lymm concluded their North West Standish Media Services Division One campaign 10 points clear of the field.

Promotion means Lymm, who face Wirral 2nd in the Raging Bull North West League Division One Cup Final at Eccles RUFC on Saturday, May 2, kick off 3.30pm, will be plying their trade in the Premier Division next season with top north-west second teams like Sedgley Park, Fylde and Preston Grasshoppers.

The 67 points scored at Altrincham took Lymm's scoring tally over the past six matches beyond 400 points, with only eight conceded.

Tries came thick and fast from the start at the weekend, scrum-half Tom Baker opening the scoring after five minutes and fly half Rhys Jones adding his first of six conversions to 11 tries.

By the interval it was 31-0 with winger Jack Worton, centre Richard McEvoy, full back Richard Halford and prop Ollie Askew all crossing.

Worton and Baker added further efforts after the break, along with second row Adam Halford, centre Sam Gough, winger Mark Wells and back row Mike Gough.
