Southport 36 Moore 25
MOORE suffered another defeat against high-flying Southport on Saturday when the sides met in the South Lancs and Cheshire Division Two.
The visitors started strongly and established a lead in quick time through a pair of tries, which were countered by a Moore penalty from fly half Lewis Johnston.
A Johnston miss-pass then found a charging Seyi Akanmu, who fed Brad Atherton, who crossed to the left of the sticks.
Max Holland then went over for Moore before another Johnston penalty ensured they turned around with the lead.
Southport came back in the second half and a try from Moore’s Joe Pudgeon was not enough to stop the hosts.
