FIVE members of Warrington Rowing Club secured medals at the national Junior Inter Regional Regatta in Nottingham on Saturday.

The club sent their junior 16 sculls crew of Luke Balcerak, Tom Pearson, Mike Pownall and James Whitehead to represent the north west at the regatta and they came back with a bronze medal.

Warrington's Josh Goswell teamed up with Runcorn's Sam Edwards to clinch silver in the junior 15 double sculls contest.

Warrington, who had coaches Richard Sinnott and Martin Goswell in charge of the region's respective under 16s and under 15s, also saw Chris Johnstone finish fifth in the junior 16 single sculls.

Balcerak and Johnstone also took fifth place in the junior 16 pairs race, while Pownall and Whitehead clinched victory in the junior 16 double sculls B final.

Warrington's results helped the north west to second place in the Victor Ludorum competition at the regatta.
