A LAST-GASP goal by substitute Ethan Barsdell earned a dramatic 3-3 draw for Warrington Campus men’s football seconds in their season opener against UCFB Burnley, writes Ashley Thornton-Jones.
The Cheshire side found themselves three goals down after a disastrous opening 15 minutes, but the hosts salvaged a point thanks to Barsdell’s injury-time finish after Miles Thompson and Rob Herbet brought the game back to life.
Meanwhile, the thirds started their title defence with a 3-3 draw against Manchester Metropolitan. The first team lost 2-0 against Liverpool Hope.
The men’s rugby union side also suffered an opening day disappointment as they went down 39-19 to Keele.
