OLIVIA Crawford was in blistering form as she won a gold medal for Warrington Athletics Club in the North of England Age Group Championships at the weekend.

The under 15s girls 75m hurdler won her heat at Middlesbrough Sports Village on Saturday in 11.48secs, which would have been a personal best but the wind was over the legal strength of two metres per second.

However, in the final on Sunday she made up for that by storming to the title in an even faster ‘legal’ time of 11.34secs.

This time moves her to fourth in the UK rankings and third in the English rankings.

In the under 17s men’s 100m hurdles Lewis Shaw took the silver medal with 13.65secs, losing out to former Warrington AC member Corey Beechall from Liverpool Harriers in 13.25secs.

Fraser Savage placed third in his under 15s boys 200m heat with a wind assisted time of 24.39secs, qualifying for the final in which he was eighth with an electronic personal best time of 24.73secs.

The next day he clinched sixth spot in the under 15s boys high jump, clearing 1.65m.

Under 15 field athlete Abigail Adelani sealed seventh in the shot putt with a personal best 9.09m, going over the nine-metre mark for the first time, and in the discus she smashed her personal best by almost three metres as her throw of 21.27m booked fifth spot.

Leah Poole competed in three under 13s events, finishing sixth in her 100m heat in 14.47secs, fifth in her 200m heat in 29.98secs with both times being wind assisted.

In the long jump held in two pools she came home second with a jump of 3.76m which registered her ninth overall.

The under 15s boys javelin competition concluded with Thomas Darbyshire in eighth courtesy of a throw of 23.37m.

In the under 13s boys 800m run as time trial heats, Oliver Davenport crossed the line seventh in his heat with 2mins 29.55secs which also resulted in seventh position overall.

Meanwhile, David Gill made his mark in the Welsh Masters Championships held in Bristol in conjunction with the Avon County AA and Yate District Open meeting.

He came home with four gold medals in the over 65s age group, in 800m in 2mins 41.47secs; 1500m in 5mins 25.09secs; 3000m in 11mins 44.66secs; and 5000m in 20minss 08.11secs.
