ROB Lawrenson won the competition dedicated to the memory of his father on Sunday.

He saw off Steve Peters in the final to pick up the Peter Lawrenson Memorial Trophy at Bewsey Park having previously beaten Mark Maloney in the semi final.

At Bank Park, Damian Morrison secured first place the Thursday night league table after another victory in their weekly Flyer competition.

WARRINGTON and North Cheshire Bowls Association will hold their presentation and race night tomorrow, Friday.

The first race starts at 8pm at Monks Sports, with each team receiving two tickets but the event is not exclusive to prize winners from 2017. Everyone is welcome to attend at a cost of £3 on the door.

Each team will own a horse for the night, with winning team owners in attendance receiving half-price team league fees for 2018.

Meanwhile, the Harry & Co Charity Trophy takes place at Bank Park on Monday.

Players are to arrive by 6.30pm, when the £8 entry fee will be paid and the draw made.

Estimated prize money is £60 for the winner, £30 for the runner-up and £15 for semi-finalists. Spectators are welcome, with refreshments and a raffle available.

St Albans men’s Monday and Friday teams hold their annual meeting on Tuesday, February 6, at the Three Pigeons pub at 7.30pm.
