A GROWING Cheshire Wire team are celebrating their first victory this week.

The under 14s White side, who play in National League North West II, won 67-27 at Stockport Falcons on Saturday.

Despite a tough and challenging start to a season in which they have been beaten six times, the young development team delivered a convincing display.

Cheshire Wire Green under 14s lost against Stockport Falcons.

They were unable to claw back a narrow half-time points deficit, which increased after the break as Cheshire Wire fell 78-57.

Given recent success with four wins from seven in the league, they head off to play table-toppers Manchester Giants at Oldham Sixth Form College this weekend aiming to continue their ascent of the table.

Cheshire Wire’s successful under 16s North Premier team defied an attempted comeback from bottom team Stockport Falcons in the last quarter to run out 105-42 victors, notching up their seventh win in eight outings.
