A HOME quartet marked their progress when competing in the Warrington Road Club Open Four-Up Team Time Trial.

David Wright, Steve Hankey, Ian Haddock and Paul McGowan finished seventh with 55mins 1sec to improve on last year’s time by nearly two minutes.

Almost 30 teams from the region entered, including some of the best riders and teams at this level.

Velotik Racing Team produced an impressive 51mins 17secs to beat Liverpool Phoenix into top spot.

Ryan Pike and Stephen Wilkinson were victorious more than 70 riders in Warrington Road Club's annual road race on the popular Antrobus circuit.

Pike from High on Bikes won the under 50s race and keeps the Mad Hatter's Trophy for 12 months.

From a nine-man breakaway, Pike beat Dan Whelan by half a wheel after the close sprint to the line. Team Wheelguru's Wilkinson, who will hold the Derek Devonport Memorial Shield for 12 months, won the over 50s race at a good distance after the final sprint from a six-man break.

Warrington Road Club were well represented by Paul Gibson, Dave Friend, Rory Crone and Mike Jones.
