A WOOLSTON Rovers prop forward is to make his first international appearance.

Jack Sherratt is selected for the BARLA Great Britain Under 23s tour to Jamaica from May 23 until June 6, when the squad play is scheduled to play three games as well as entering two teams into a sevens competition.

Sherratt, who joined Rovers just over 12 months ago, was in excellent form for the club last season and along with impressive performances for Lancashire in the recent County Championship has caught the eye of the selectors.

Sherratt said: “I am delighted to have been chosen to represent my country. The past year has been really good for me and I have been able to move my game up several levels by playing in the National Conference League and it has certainly paid off.

"I am really enjoying my rugby at Woolston. My teammates, coaches and all the staff have welcomed me with open arms and I am grateful for the support that I have been given from everybody at the club. I will be continuing to train hard and make sure that we get off to a good start as it is a vital season for us.”
