Eagle Sports 1 Rudheath Social 0

EAGLE Sports claimed their second one-goal victory of the week against Rudheath on Saturday in the Cheshire League Premier Division.

A first-half headed goal from captain Craig Hall proved enough.

Eagle had keeper Craig Clare's inspired form to thank to keep the visitors at bay early on.

But the home side began to control the game for the last 20 minutes of the first half and got their reward when a Jay Waldron corner from the right was headed home by Hall into the corner of the net.

The second half saw the visitors have further chances, but Clare was in great form to thwart any attempts to even the scoreline.

Substitute Ged McAllister went close for Eagle late on but the visiting keeper made a good block.

Eagle defended well and held on take the points as they look to get their season moving at pace and return to the top regions of the division.

Eagle: Clare, Coleman, R.Bishop, Chinn, C.Hall, Nixon, Waldron, Rudge, Ellis, L.Boardman, N.Williams Subs: Maher, McAllister, Stratulis.
