LYMM’S Julian Viggars finished ninth in Oulton Park’s BARC Club Car Championship at the weekend.
Driving a 1598cc Caterham 7 in the Caterham Sigma Class, he was fifth fastest during qualifying.
During the race, he lost a few places before climbing to fifth position only for a mistake on the final lap to drop him down to ninth.
Warrington’s Richard Roundell, driving his 2.5 litre Vauxhall Vectra in the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship, slid off the circuit during qualifying, resulting in a poor starting position.
From 23rd, he recovered to 11th position before an engine problem forced him to retire.
