University of Manchester 2 Lymm Ladies 6
NATALIE Riley netted four goals before leaving the pitch with a broken nose in Lymm’s victory over University of Manchester on Saturday.
Helen Weston opened the scoring for Lymm against the run of play with the deftest of touches at the near post.
Lymm consolidated their lead through Alex Pepper shortly after but University of Manchester stayed in the game, getting a goal back to make it 2-1.
Gradually Lymm found some rhythm and a powerful strike at a set piece from Riley started a goal rush from the forward, who ended the half with four to her name, giving Lymm a five-goal lead.
After giving her side a comfortable advantage, Riley then had to leave the pitch after a defender's clearance was lifted high into her face, causing a broken nose and fractures in the eye socket.
The game continued and Manchester claimed a consolation goal.
