Cheshire Wire Green 37 Rossendale Raptors 78

CHESHIRE Wire Green showed encouraging signs of improvement despite defeat to Rossendale in the under 13s National Basketball League.

The hosts started off slowly once again and were soon trailing their opponents due to too many fouls and unforced errors.

As a result, the Raptors were able to capitalise with easy points and by the end of the first half, Wire Green were trailing by 22 points.

The second half was a brighter affair and the lost possession which blighted their first period was reduced as Wire Green started to play with more urgency and authority.

In spite of this however, they were unable to convert enough of their opportunities into points while Raptors had sufficient possession to keep their score ticking over regularly and by the end of the game, Rossendale Raptors were comfortable winners.

Cheshire Wire White were beaten by Oldham Titans after struggling to recover from a slow start which saw them fall behind 32-9 in the opening quarter.

Wire White took control in the second quarter, opening with a 10-point run and going on to win the quarter.

They fell behind again in the third quarter and despite the best efforts of Elliot Cochrane, who racked up 16 points, the hosts failed to narrow the gap.
