RYLANDS twice came from behind to earn a hard-fought point as they drew 2-2 at Gamesley in the Cheshire Football League Premier Division.

Rylands, who visit champions Garswood on Saturday, fell behind ten minutes before the break and looked to be heading in at the break on the back foot until a Kris Bell equaliser came just before the half-time whistle.

The second half had barely settled down when Gamesley restored their advantage with a bizarre goal as a hopeful cross skidded off the surface and evaded everyone before creeping into the net at the far post.

However, Bell notched his tenth goal in eight games this season with a close-range finish after the home side had failed to clear a routine corner kick.

“I thought we started well and recovered well from falling behind,” said manager Dave Parr.

“In the end we deserved a point at a difficult away venue but again failing to keep a clean sheet is of concern.”

Rylands: Harris, Parr, Sinker, Brown, Dykes, Tierney, Lowe, Berry (Gibson 74mins), Southern (Clements 72mins), Bell, Brownhill.
