VICTORIA Park Arena hosted the third round of the Northern League on Sunday, with Warrington Athletics Club finishing in third place.

In the women’s events, under 17s runner Lizzie Smith won the 800m in 2mins 28secs, while Rachel Jefferson made a return to the track with victory in the 3,000m and also won the B 1,500m.

Other B event winners were Elise Bate in the 400m, Kiera Grady in the 800m and Emma Makin in the 3,000m.

In the men’s events, Matt Wigelsworth was a double winner taking the 400m and 800m with 52secs and 1min 58secs respectively.

Under 17s runner Owen Lee won the 800m B race in a personal best 2mins 6.6secs.
