WARRINGTON Town laid down a marker with a 4-2 defeat of 10-man Northwich Victoria this afternoon that extends their lead at the top of Evo-stik First Division North.
The Yellows are now six points clear of a Vics side that have four games in hand but were very much second best on this occasion at Cantilever Park.
Shaun Reid's men did keep their supporters in a whopping 1,095 crowd sweating though, even in the cold and occasionally snowy conditions, after taking a firm grip of affairs.
Town were 3-0 ahead when Iain Howard pulled a goal back in the 75th minute.
He fired past keeper Karl Wills at the near post after Richie Bennett had flicked on.
Seven minutes later the deficit was cut again Bennett spun and shot into the top corner from 25 yards.
And then cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Two minutes into added time Ben Deegan, the best player on the field, completed the scoring after a dreadful Vics defensive error.
Vics had been reduced to 10 men in the 14th minute.
Mo Ali was sent off after hauling down Chris Gahgan as he ran clear onto Ciaran Kilheeney's flick-on.
Town took a while to capitalise on their numerical advantage but eventually did.
Nathan Burke drilled past Mason Springthorpe after stunning approach play by Ben Deegan in the 33rd minute.
Reid's boys went into the dressing rooms at half time in buoyant mood after Kilheeney doubled their advantage two minutes into added time.
He punished a defensive error by visiting full-back Scott Duxbury.
And it was Kilheeney who bagged the third in the 68th minute to put the Yellows in total charge, so everyone thought, again after another defensive mistake, this time Mile Clarke failing to cut out a pass.
But after all the late drama it proved to be Town's day and just reward for the club getting the game on after the overnight frost.
What a win for @theyellows good to see cantilever packed out once again. Only 17 games remaining to hold the top spot #PromotionBattle #WTFC

Masterclass in centre-forward play from @theyellows front pair Ben Deegan and Ciaran Kilheeney - too good for the visitors' defence.
