EAGLE Sports enjoyed a mixed week in the Cheshire League’s Premier Division, beating Rylands in midweek before losing 3-2 at champions Linotype on Saturday.

After Koubemba Odilion had their neighbours ahead last Tuesday, Eagle roared back in the second half.

They collected maximum points thanks to an own goal and an Owen Ellis strike.

Ellis and Lee Boardman then put Eagle 2-1 up at the weekend, overturning an interval deficit, only for two late goals to seal a win for title-chasing Linotype.

Warrington Town reserves proved to be unstoppable in a pair of League Two fixtures, scoring a whopping 15 goals.

A Rhys Bowers hat-trick, plus two each from John Edge and Ben Collins and further goals from Chris Bandell, Richie Allen and Adam Campbell saw them thrash Unicorn Athletic 10-0 in midweek.

Perhaps a more impressive result was a 5-0 win over fellow promotion-hopefuls Lostock Gralam at the weekend that moved them above their opponents into second place.

Elsewhere in League Two, Moore United shared the spoils with Cheadle reserves after a 2-2 draw.

Sam Chaddock and Phil Gaghan twice putting their side in front.

In Reserves League One, Daten took a step away from the relegation zone after beating fellow strugglers Sandbach United on Saturday.

In the same section, Greenalls Padgate St Oswalds’ second string played out an entertaining draw with their Styal counterparts..

Eagle reserves – already assured of a quarter-final place – were in knockout action, but visitors Wythenshawe scored twice late on to win their Challenge Cup group-stage encounter.
