MORE than 600 tickets have already been sold for Warrington Town’s final home game of the season next weekend.

The game against Prescot Cables on Saturday, April 16, could be the day Town clinch a historic promotion to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division, a level they have never played at in their history.

After last weekend’s win over Brighouse, coupled with second-placed Spennymoor winning their game in hand at Droylsden in midweek, Town are nine points clear at the top of the First Division North table with just four games left.

A win at Glossop this Saturday would mean a point at home to Cables would secure the title.

The match looks set to attract a bumper crowd at Cantilever Park and Yellows boss Stuart Mellish says winning the league at home would be the “perfect reward” for the club’s fans.

“It will be a great celebration if we do win the league that day,” he said.

“Obviously we need to keep our focus as players and management but I would be absolutely delighted if we could win the league in front of our own fans.

“It would be the perfect reward for them as they have been absolutely fantastic, both home and away.

“We want as big a crowd as possible so I hope people in the town turn out for what could be a special occasion in the history of Warrington Town Football Club.”

The capacity of Cantilever Park has been capped at 2,000 for the game and tickets are still on sale for anyone wishing to buy them.

Tickets will be sold from the sponsors lounge at the ground and are priced at £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £2 for under 16s.

The next ticket sales session is planned for Monday, 8am to 8pm.
