New Mills 0 Warrington Town 5

YELLOWS came good in the second half to remain nine points clear at the top of Evo-Stik First Division North.

All five goals against basement dwellers New Mills came after the break as Town extended their unbeaten league run to 12 matches - 11 of them as wins.

Recent signing Joe Holt, on his first start, and skipper Ciaran Kilheeney each bagged a brace on a day when Karl Wills made it 15 clean sheets this season.

The division's top goal scorer Kilheeney netted 22 and 23 of the season in the 79th and 81st minutes to make his mark in eight successive matches and cap off the win.

After a disappointing first half on a soft pitch, Holt's 50th-minute effort seemed to settle Shaun Reid's side.

And it started raining goals after Ben Deegan made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute, with Holt's second seven minutes later putting the game out of New Mills' reach.

Title rivals Northwich Victoria won their first match without departed manager Jim Gannon, 3-0 at Ossett Albion to maintain the status quo at the top.

Town, who have now scored four goals or more in five of their last six games, return to the field when they host Northwich Manchester Villa at Cantilever Park in the Cheshire Senior Cup first round on Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.
