ORFORD FC are through to the semi finals of the Warrington and District League Jubilee Cup after drubbing fellow top-flight opposition.

Pick of the goals for the third-placed Premier Division side came after a lightning counter attack that included touches from Liam Moran, Daniel Wilcox and Stuart Smith before being finished off by Liam Mcloughlin placing the ball in the top corner.

Man of the match Stu Smith netted a hat-trick against the second-placed guests, with Wilcox also bagging.

In the last four, Orford will face a Halebank side that won 3-0 at Burtonwood at the last-eight stage.

Halebank Reserves 2 Winwick 4 (after a penalty shootout)

WINWICK won a penalty shoot- out at Halebank Reserves out to progress to the semi finals of the Rylands Cup.

Halebank’s captain missed the first spot kick to give Winwick the advantage.

James Cookson, Chris Appleton, Adam Llewellyn and Matt Inglesby all scored and a good save from Kiel Ferguson meant Winwick progressed.

Cronton Villa 2 Grange Sports 4

GRANGE Sports’ first team won a hard-fought game at Cronton Villa to progress to a Depot Cup semi-final date.

Ryan Wilde scored twice, Jake Shaw got in on the act and a long-range special from assistant manager Roy Sweeney topped off the performance.

Grange will host Farnworth Griffin in the semi finals on Saturday, April 18, kick off 2.30pm.

** WOOLSTON Rovers, second-placed in Division Three, fell 3-2 to a struggling St Michaels DH.

Sam Wright and Joshua Turner got their goals.

Damon Gamble and Lewis Walker both hit the target as Monk Sports sent Showbar tumbling out of the Drinkwater Cup.

Grange Reserves’ good form continued in a relegation dogfight at Penketh United.

Trailing 1-0 at half time, Grange produced goals from Aaron Lilford, Joe Green and Michael Wharton, while Neil Jackson was outstanding between the sticks during their first win since the first week of the season.

Joe Green, Aaron Lilford and Michael Wharton netted, though they remain bottom two points adrift of St Michaels DH Thirds.

Mattiola marched into the semi finals of the Buchanan Cup after succeeding 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out at Woolston Rovers Reserves after the game ended 3-3, with James Carpenter scoring twice for the losers.
